Park Guidelines – Jim Carey’s Country Retreat 1. Check-in is any time after 2 p.m. Checkout is 12 noon. 2. Photo identification is required of all guests. 3. Well-behaved pets are welcome, as long as you clean up after them. 4. All open fires are in approved places only. You must have a garden hose ready, too. Please ask before building any fires. 1830’s Cabin

According to the neighbors, who have been here over 200 years, my cabin was one of three built in the 1830s. One burnt down in the 1980’s, and the foundations of the other are still visible in the woods. In 1999 I moved here, cleared a road back into the woods to the cabin, ran underground electric, put in a well, indoor plumbing, central air and a cell phone booster tower. Hiking, Walking & ATVs

Walking and Hiking We have a mile of trails at Jim’s retreat. For a pleasant walk in the woods, the trails are wonderful. See photos below. We’re surrounded by thousands of acres of timberland, with logging roads running through the woods. From the cabin it’s a 2 1/2 mile hike to the Ogeechee River.
