About Us

We have a beautiful, park-like five acre clearing set on 100 acres of timber and cropland, one-quarter mile back from a little-traveled road. This is a private, quiet, beautiful place to get away from the world for a day or a week. Bring your tent or RV, or tie your hammock to the trees and sleep under the stars. There are trails through the woods, and hiking along the Ogeechee river. Family reunions and group events are welcome. There is

There are numerous ponds in the area open to the public, either for free or a small fee. Two miles north of Jim’s Retreat is the Bull Hole, public access with a boat ramp on the Ogeechee River. A Quiet Getaway

A Quiet Getaway For a quiet getaway, this is the place. Lie in a hammock, lay in the sun, read a book, watch the sun rise, watch the sun set, or just listen to Nature – this is the place to do it. Since we only rent to one guest or group at a time, it’ll be just you and the staff – who are totally discrete. Sunset from the yard.

Stargazing We’re far enough from town that the sky lights up with stars at night. People have come out here, looked up at the sky, and asked me, “What’s that?” “You mean the Milky Way?” “Is that what that is? I’ve heard of it, but didn’t know you could see it with the naked eye.” This is a great place to lie in a lawn chair and look at the stars though your binoculars. We’ll even loan you a pair.

Trails & Clearings

There’s about a mile of trails around the property. We try to keep them clear and broad, for nice walks in the woods. Beckoning. Unexpected clearings along the trails. Some trails open into peaceful, private clearings. There’s an adventure down every new opening in the trees.
