Hiking, Walking & ATVs

Walking and Hiking We have a mile of trails at Jim’s retreat. For a pleasant walk in the woods, the trails are wonderful. See photos below. We’re surrounded by thousands of acres of timberland, with logging roads running through the woods. From the cabin it’s a 2 1/2 mile hike to the Ogeechee River. Along the Ogeechee River there is a trail along the south bank that runs from Herndon Rd. to US 25, over 10 miles in a straight

There are numerous ponds in the area open to the public, either for free or a small fee. Two miles north of Jim’s Retreat is the Bull Hole, public access with a boat ramp on the Ogeechee River. Fishing licenses are available at Uncle Melvin’s Stop and Shop, 4 miles West. Some area lakes have boats for rent. Jenkins County Chamber of Commerce website Emanuel County Chamber of Commerce website
